Getting Ready at Home — The Best Way
Lucy and Liam’s day was an absolute belter from the minute I walked through the door at her parents’ place in Crookston. The morning had that perfect mix of chilled vibes and mild chaos — the “we’re totally on track… but also absolutely not” kind of energy that every good wedding morning has. We squeezed in a really lovely first look with her dad basically on the doorstep before piling out the door and heading for the city.
An Intimate Ceremony in the Heart of Glasgow
Lucy hopped into her Rolls Royce, I jumped in the car behind, and we all made our way into the centre of Glasgow for their ceremony at 23 Montrose Street. It was small, intimate, properly heartfelt — just their closest people… and Harvey the Cockapoo, who took his role as ringbearer very seriously and absolutely stole the show.
Glasgow was basically on fire — about 30 degrees and not a cloud in sight — so after the ceremony we headed outside into full sunshine for the confetti throw. I found myself standing in the road, genuinely accepting that if I was taken out by a taxi at that moment, at least the shot would be worth it. It was chaotic, colourful, brilliant fun.
Cockapoo in Charge
Group shots & a Merchant City wander came straight after. Before anyone disappeared off for drinks, we gathered everyone under the John Street archway for group photos in the shade (a life-saver given the temperature). Once we’d wrapped those up, the guests sensibly headed to Brown’s on George Square for air-con and refreshments, while the four of us, Lucy, Liam, Harvey and me, took to the streets of the Merchant City for some chilled couples photos.
As we wandered through Merchant City, the reaction from the public was wild. Every corner we turned, someone was shouting congratulations, cheering, or telling Lucy how beautiful she looked. It got so ridiculous we actually tried to keep count… I lost track somewhere after fifty. Glasgow was absolutely in its element.
Warm evening sun & Warmer speeches
Back at Brown’s, the speeches were brilliant, warm, funny, emotional, the kind that make you smile behind the camera. After the meal we all headed through the city towards Citation for the evening reception, grabbing a few more photos on the walk as the sun started to dip. We snuck in some golden-hour balcony shots at Citation too while the evening guests arrived.
When the Sensible Shoes Came Off
The evening reception was exactly what you want: sunglasses on the dancefloor, loads of laughter, and a properly good atmosphere from start to finish. The perfect way to end a day that already felt full of joy, connection, and all the good stuff.
Lucy and Liam — thank you so much for having me along. What a day.
